Growing up
The other day I was reading one of the baby books we have. I was reading the 5 and 6 months chapters, getting a feel for what is ahead. Seems like all of the big firsts are coming up. First tooth, rolling over, sitting up, first words and first steps are around the corner. I can't wait! Although I will miss the infant stage (so cute) I love seeing him develop and discover.
In the past week or so, I have noticed a huge difference in Simon. It's as though, one morning, he decided to become a baby. No longer satisfied with lying down and relaxing, all he wants to do is be a part of the action. He wants to stand or sit up. All of the toys that he had previously just stared at now have a purpose. Rattles are being rattled, crinkly toys are being crinkled, and of course everything is going in his mouth. Suddenly he is chatting non-stop. Several times Carlos and I have been awoken in the middle of the night by his chatting to himself, or maybe to Marley, who has taken a shining to the crib. We just lay back in bed and giggled, listening to him talk himself to sleep. He is learning to flirt, either by smiling at people and then looking away, or looking coy. I like this stage of babyhood. Suddenly everything is new and interesting. No toys around? Give him a measuring cup, a toilet paper roll, the TV remote! It's so amazing to see him interacting with everything around him.
Life is really good right now.

Who is the handsome boy in the mirror?

Hey kiddo
Is this all public? Love the pictures and the comments. Of course a second baby might mean a second blog, but by then life is a blurr anyway!
Mum and I will be sure to keep looking from "over there". Please keep posting.
It's Great!
